Not much info here, the first 3 tracks technically make up this demo with song 4 being an unfinished bonus track from 2011. Overall a very dark and chaotic sound, I've listened through it a few times already and I've really come to enjoy this unique lo-fi breed of death metal. Feedback is encouraged as this is a band request.

I have been watching a lot of Seinfeld recently. Shocker. Gorey Gibbler was a one man grindcore band dedicated completely to Seinfeld. Genius. I knew it was only a matter of time before I posted this nonsense for ya. This guy was a fuckin riff machine, lots of fast, creative and driving riffage here. Blistering fast drum machine action, the vocals are few and far between and are highly distorted. GG relied more audio clips, fans of the show will absolutely love the samples and subject matter here. This download is actually an anthology of all the Gorey Gibbler recordings; 'The Griendfeld Chronicles' 'Sein-Grind vs Swine-Grind' and 'The Shape of Sein-Grind To Come'. Enjoy this whacky shit.

I think I may have more respect for Candiria than I do for pretty much 90% of the other bands that I listen to. Ok, so that may be a bit of a stretch but still, without these guys I dont think I'd be as into the obscure metal scene as I am. I swear I was raised on the street driven, attitude plenty, atmospheric, abstract assault that is Candiria's early recordings. These guys were never given a solid chance by most, go ahead, try to find a Metal Archives page for them. Not metal enough? Ha! These guys fired on all "metal" cylinders constantly, from death metalling growls to swift hardcore flavored beatdowns to melodic jazz infused bass driving chaos to grindcore influenced blasts. Just take a listen, for first timers I can guarantee a future download of another album. For those more experienced with the band already, you should know that this is their first demo and it contains a few tracks that went on to be re-recorded for 'Process of Self Development'. I'll be sure to share that gem with you all soon, in the mean time check out this post as well as... er um, well, this post.

Thick and grimy technical deathcore smothered with loads of noodling guitar wizardy, robots, bree brees, chaotic breakdowns and abstract experimental tendencies. A solid listen, creative, spacey and thought inducing for sure. This is one to definitely check out for fans of deathcore with some real substance.

So there was a pretty awesome, one-man, technical death grind 'band' by the name of Semen Across Lips. After a while Garry, the sole member, decided to switch styles completely and go for a more abstract, black metal influenced sound. It started out as a pretty straight forward experimental black metal/space project after (and even slightly before...) he changed names. The demos are some very haunting and atmospheric stuff with a post rock/psychedelic edge and hints of melodic death metal. His second demo was a 10 minute instrumental epic 'And I, The Cape Of' and it couldn't sound more different. Fans of Pelican should really get down on that one. These are definitely 2 cool demos to check out. Enjoy.

One of the most talented, overlooked and underrated bands in the entire history of the metal scene. These guys dont even have a Metal Archives page, to say that Candiria is not metal is fucking ridiculous.. Anyway, they bring a unique, raw, attitude filled assault with every breath. Blink and you'll miss parts of their genius, for these guys move at 100 mph. Every album (and song...) is different and special in its own way mixing passages of death metal, hardcore, noise, tribal, acid jam, jazz and rap. I find this to be one of their more brutal releases and I will do my damnedest to share my entire collection of Candiria at some point. Enjoy.

Violently dirty but still rather abstract and experimental death grind from this classic PA outfit. It's either love or hate for Horvath's vocals, some of his sounds are pretty fucking out there and very unique. A punishing listen.

This is one of the strangest "black metal" albums in my entire collection, even more bizarre than Evil AKcoustik's 'Chronicles'... Somehow I even managed to score the limited edition reissue somewhere along my cd purchasing travels. Anyway, Xexyz is a one man project from Illinois who takes dreary black metal and mixes it with Nintendo style 8-bit effects creating some sort of bastard hybrid tracks somewhere in between cover and original. Some of it is pretty good, especially when its not as heavy on the 8-bit nonsense. The vocals tend to dwell between harsh rasps and the realm of whiney, swooning drawn out yells, comical at times but still pretty brutal when it needs to be. This is worth checking out only for the very open minded in search of some really, really obscure shit. Enjoy.

A technical swirling midwest deathgrind shitfest from the early 00's. This very noisy full length is packed with solid riffs and features a very varied and skilled vocalist. Some core influence, an occasional 3 second jazzy bassy interlude and of course some other staple grindtacular experimental elements are present but for the most part this is strictly a loud grinding/death affair. For fans of Dying Fetus, Cryptopsy, Cephalic Carnage and Origin.
