I think I may have more respect for Candiria than I do for pretty much 90% of the other bands that I listen to. Ok, so that may be a bit of a stretch but still, without these guys I dont think I'd be as into the obscure metal scene as I am. I swear I was raised on the street driven, attitude plenty, atmospheric, abstract assault that is Candiria's early recordings. These guys were never given a solid chance by most, go ahead, try to find a Metal Archives page for them. Not metal enough? Ha! These guys fired on all "metal" cylinders constantly, from death metalling growls to swift hardcore flavored beatdowns to melodic jazz infused bass driving chaos to grindcore influenced blasts. Just take a listen, for first timers I can guarantee a future download of another album. For those more experienced with the band already, you should know that this is their first demo and it contains a few tracks that went on to be re-recorded for 'Process of Self Development'. I'll be sure to share that gem with you all soon, in the mean time check out this post as well as... er um, well, this post.

Fuck! This is some absolutely amazing and relatively unknown stuff from Finland circa 1991. So much energy comes across here! The lead guitarist is on some other shit and goes about making his own rules for alot of this release. From jazzed up groovy death metal influenced punching to absurd thrashing shouts and twists this is some really impressive stuff for the time. Pure chaos in song structure my friends. This godly 10 minute 3 track chunk is sure to leave a bruise on even the most seasoned obscure metal worshipping veteran.

I finally tracked down a real copy of this extremely rare gem, I also paid more for this MCD than I normally would but oh well, I'm a happy guy. These 2 songs were recorded shortly after the 'Embrace the Angel' sessions and was released on Red Dawn Records. December AE is probably one of my favorite bands of all time, and I'm happy to be sharing this rarity with you guys. If anyone knows how to score a physical or mp3 copy of their rare 2007 EP 'The Grafton Avenue Project' please let me know! Oh and no YouTube link this time, sorry.

These guys hailed from Philly and brought tons of emotion and chaos to the studio and the live show. I'll never forget the first time I saw All Else Failed, it was in 2001 and the singer busted his head up so bad with the mic he had to leave the stage, such a great show. Anyway, these guys were thick in the middle of the now classic Now Or Never Records line up in the early 00's along with Diecast and The Dillinger Escape Plan. This is a great album, love the piano parts.

A true genre bending masterpiece. Converge set a new standard for disregarding traditional song structure and timing. Jane Doe has such a unique and emotionally abstract, almost euphoric sound, that it transports the listener deep into new mental realms that are rarely explored. Enough said, you can really feel this album, its a classic and it should be respected.

So I must not be the only one who forgot all about the band Haste, being that I just picked up this album for a penny on the good ol Amazon. Some really classic stuff here from Century Media. Melodic and emotional at times, big slabs of breakdown served with groovy catchy hooks and riffage. Dueling double vocalists deliver strong mid range yells mixed with often harmonized cleans and piercing highs. I've always enjoyed the track 'Confessions of a Lesser Known Saint' since its appearance on numerous CM samplers way back in the day. Fans of early era Poison The Well and Glassjaw should definitely dig.

So I was up at 6am for inventory this morning and now I'm fucking tired. Safe to say my ears and my IPod got a serious workout today. This is some seriously underrated brutality right here. Simple, balls heavy stomp shit from the early 00's with lots of groove and chaos built in. This EP was reissued in 2005 with the 'Glorified Dirt' EP included. Some good stuff there as well but there's something really special about TTFOP. What you are downloading is a rip from the 2002 Goodfellow Records edition. Yea, my link... 'sup.

If I'd smoke crack on Earth, Heaven would surely be a disappointment, and Hell is other people. I hope neither exists, I'd settle for sleep.
